ZOOM TIPS to best enjoy the show

If possible, use the desktop App version on a computer.

If you have the ability, connect your computer to a larger display, TV, projector, etc. for maximum enjoyment. You could even connect your computer to your favorite speaker system or headphones.

All tips instructions below are for desktop app version.

If you are using the web-browser version, tablet or phone app you can find solutions linked here.

Speaker View

Desktop:

In the top right corner, click on the "View" button. Switch from "Gallery" to "Speaker" view by clicking on speaker or the small icon of box and 3 dots over it to the right icon.

Under Meeting in menu, click on Gallery View to toggle to Speaker View.

Tablet/Phone:

Swipe to Speaker view.

Do Not Use Full Screen

While not using fullscreen, make the Zoom app as large as possible to fit your screen. (If you are in fullscreen, Zoom will create a pop-out window with a gallery view and this might be in the way of what we want you to see.

 

In the top right corner, click on the "View" button. Do Not click on "Fullscreen"

 

Under "Meeting" in menu, do not click on "Fullscreen"

 

You can accidentally go into fullscreen by double clicking on the zoom window. If you find yourself in fullscreen, you can hit the "escape" key on your keyboard. Or move your cursor to the top of the window til the menu reappears.

Hide Non-Video Participants

"Stop Video" in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Press on the ^ button and choose Video Settings.

 

 

 

 

 

This will open a pop up "Settings";

Find the "Video" option on the left.

Check the box next to "Hide Non-Video Participants"

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alternately, switch to Gallery mode and click the three blue dots in the upper right corner of a non-video participant's box, then select "hide non-video participants
